About Kate

Hi, my name is Kate (she/her/hers). I am a relational therapist who strives to live a values-driven life and help you do the same. I believe in the inherent vulnerability of being human and the power in owning our stories. I am not here for the “quick fix,” I am here to walk with you, hold space for you, and grow with you.

I came to social work by way of advocacy, which means I will work hard to be a voice for you. Within each of us lives innate wisdom, passion, and purpose; one of my greatest joys is joining you in that path of self discovery, throwing out the notion that there’s one specific map we must follow, and exploring. We are not meant to walk through this life alone—as humans, we are wired for connection. In that connection we find belonging, and in that belonging we find healing.

Most of my favorite past times include getting into connection: with nature, with friends and family over a meal, by supporting local Austin businesses. When I’m not “in the room,” you can find me at the farmers’ market, tending to one of my many plants, or throwing the ball at Zilker with my golden retriever.

I am clinically supervised by Arlene Montgomery, LCSW and regularly consult with Neathery Thurmond, LCSW-S, CGP.
